How It Works

The system continuously scans public data sources for health and scandal-related events concerning specific lawmakers. Each event is weighted based on its severity, recency, and potential impact on voting capacity. These weighted events contribute to separate Health and Scandal scores, which are then combined to produce an overall Vulnerability Score for each legislator.

Methodology

A legislator's Vulnerability Score (VS) is calculated as the maximum of their Health Score (HS) and Scandal Score (SS). HS is a function of age, recent hospitalizations, and roll call absence rate over the last 90 days. SS is determined by the severity of active investigations (e.g., Ethics Committee vs. DOJ), negative media sentiment analysis over 30 days, and any official party censures.
