What It Does

It continuously scrapes data from platforms like X, TikTok, and Instagram for mentions of a specific celebrity. The pillar then calculates a net sentiment score and, most importantly, the velocity of that score. This reveals how quickly public perception is shifting, not just what it currently is.

Why It Matters

Simple sentiment can be a lagging indicator. By focusing on momentum, this pillar provides a crucial edge in timing, spotting burgeoning scandals or viral successes hours or days before they peak and are fully priced into markets.

How It Works

First, it aggregates all mentions of a target individual over a rolling 24-hour period. Each mention is passed through a natural language processing model to assign a positive, neutral, or negative score. These scores are then used to calculate a daily Net Sentiment Score, and the rate of change of this score over the last 72 hours determines the final Momentum Velocity.

Methodology

The core metric is Sentiment Velocity (SV). It is calculated from the Net Sentiment Score (NSS), where NSS = (% Positive Mentions - % Negative Mentions). The velocity is the first derivative of the NSS over a 72-hour rolling window: SV = (NSS_t - NSS_t-24h) / NSS_t-24h. A high positive SV indicates rapidly improving sentiment.
