Cardio Gas Tank Analysis
Quantifying fighter endurance and late-fight sustainability
Overview
This pillar evaluates a fighter's aerobic capacity and ability to maintain offensive output in later rounds. It identifies athletes who fade under pressure versus those who increase volume as the fight progresses.
What It Does
The analysis tracks significant strike attempts and grappling engagements across rounds to visualize energy depletion curves. It isolates variables that drain stamina, such as body shots absorbed and time spent defending takedowns.
Why It Matters
Fatigue makes cowards of us all and ruins positions. Knowing who has the 'deep water' advantage allows you to position the underdog in live markets or predict decision wins for high-volume cardio machines.
How It Works
We compare a fighter's Round 1 output against their average Round 3 (and 4-5) output to establish a Fade Coefficient. This is adjusted based on the opponent's grappling style, as wrestling exchanges drain energy faster than striking.
Methodology
Calculates the 'Fade Rate' using (R3_Strikes / R1_Strikes) * 100. Incorporates a 'Grappling Tax' multiplier of 1.2x for every minute of control time endured. Data is aggregated from the last 5 fights, weighted heavily toward bouts that went the distance.
Edge & Advantage
Exploits live betting lines where the favorite is exhausted but odds remain short. Also identifies value on 'Fight to Go the Distance' props for high-stamina matchups.
