Early Game/Pistol Round Proficiency
Winning the first fight to predict the match.
Overview
This pillar analyzes a team's performance in the crucial opening phase of an esports match. It quantifies success in pistol rounds for tactical shooters and the first ten minutes for MOBAs, providing a key indicator of a team's preparation and initial momentum.
What It Does
The pillar aggregates historical data on a team's early game performance across recent matches. It calculates win percentages for initial objectives like pistol rounds, first blood, or first tower. For MOBAs, it measures economic leads, such as gold and experience differentials, at the 10 minute mark to create a proficiency score.
Why It Matters
A strong start often creates an economic and psychological advantage that snowballs into a map or match victory. This pillar identifies teams that consistently secure early leads, a factor often missed by models that only look at overall win rates.
How It Works
First, the system gathers match data for each team from the last 3 months. It then isolates performance in the first two rounds for FPS games or the first 10 minutes for MOBAs. Key metrics are weighted and combined to generate a single Early Game Proficiency score, which is then compared against their opponent's score.
Methodology
The proficiency score is a weighted average. For FPS games like CS:GO or Valorant, the formula is Score = (0.6 * Pistol Round Win %) + (0.4 * Round 2 Conversion %). For MOBAs, it is Score = (0.5 * First Objective %) + (0.3 * Gold Difference @ 10min) + (0.2 * Experience Difference @ 10min). The analysis focuses on the last 20 competitive matches.
Edge & Advantage
It provides a specific edge in 'First Half' or 'Pistol Round' markets by isolating a key performance driver that overall team rankings often obscure.
