Lead Talent Marketability Index
Quantifying star power for viewership predictions.
Overview
This pillar analyzes the marketability of a show's lead actors to forecast its potential viewership and commercial success. It combines social media momentum, past project performance, and public interest into a single predictive score.
What It Does
The Lead Talent Marketability Index synthesizes multiple data points related to a show's primary cast. It calculates an actor's current social media influence by tracking follower growth and engagement velocity. This is combined with the financial and critical success of their recent projects to create a holistic 'draw' score.
Why It Matters
Star power is a critical but often subjective factor in a show's success. This pillar provides a data-driven edge by turning anecdotal popularity into a quantifiable metric, helping to predict how effectively the cast can attract an initial audience.
How It Works
First, the top 1 to 3 lead actors for a given project are identified. Next, their social media accounts are analyzed for 90-day growth and engagement trends. Then, their last three major projects are scored based on financial return on investment and critical ratings. These scores are weighted and combined into a final Marketability Index.
Methodology
The index is a weighted average: 45% Social Momentum Score (calculated from 30-day follower growth and engagement rate change on key platforms), 40% Project Performance Score (based on a project's budget vs. box office or estimated streaming viewership), and 15% Public Interest Score (derived from Google Trends search volume velocity).
Edge & Advantage
This pillar provides an edge by capturing an actor's current career momentum, revealing rising stars or fading appeal before it becomes common knowledge.
